  • Ice
  • 1 cup of your choice of milk
  • 4 shots of expresso or 1 cup of cold coffee
  • 2-4 tbsp vanilla syrup adjust to taste

Homemade Vanilla Syrup

  • ½ cup organic cane sugar or a sweetener of choice
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup of filtered water
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Make the Vanilla Syrup

  • Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan.
  • Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves completely about 3 minutes
  • Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract, and let it cool. Store in an air tight jar or bottle.

Brew your Expresso or Coffee

  • Make four shots of espresso using an espresso machine, or brew strong coffee and let it cool. It's okay to use day-old coffee that has been kept in the fridge or cold brew coffee for this. Just make sure whatever you use is cold
  • Assemble the Latte
  • Add the espresso or cooled coffee to a large mason jar or another large container with a tight lid for shaking.
  • Pour the milk in and stir
  • Add the vanilla syrup to your taste liking, put it on the lid, and shake it to combine.
  • Pour into a tall glass over ice and enjoy. Top with whip cream for an extra decant treat.
  • Store in the fridge and replenish as needed.

Notes

You can make as much or as little as you like just keep the ratio of 1 cup of coffee to 1 cup of milk and sweeten with your vanilla syrup to your liking.

The Vanilla syrup can also be added to a hot coffee to make a delicious latte.
